Glenloch Baptist Church

About Us

Work

Glenloch seeks actively to be an Acts 1:8 church: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”  We seek to be involved locally through our soup kitchen and food pantry ministries. We also seek to serve Him globally, as we have had many individuals from Glenloch go on missions all over the earth, including church teams to New York and Uganda the past few years.

Purpose

Glenloch Baptist exists to reach non-believers with the grace of Christ and grow believers to know God and make His love and glory abound in their lives.

The Plan of Salvation

  1. ACCEPT that you are a sinner and cannot get to heaven on your own merit.  “As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one.” – Romans 3:10
  2. BELIEVE that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for your sins, and was resurrected for your justification.  “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” – John 3:36
  3. CONFESS that you want to accept Christ as your personal Savior.  “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:9, 10:13

History

In 1902 the first “meeting house” was built on Glenloch Rd. to serve the community. It was one room 40 ft. x 60 ft.  The church grew and prospered over the years. In the summer of 1949, the old “meeting house” was torn down and a new one was built on the same site. The church was built for about $3000. The new church was dedicated on Sunday, Oct. 9, 1949. In the 1950’s the educational rooms were added to the church. During the 1970’s the church built a new fellowship hall, more educational rooms and they bought more land for the cemetery. in 1986 another fellowship hall was built and the old hall was converted into Sunday school rooms and a nursery. During 1988 and 1989 we remodeled the auditorium and doubled the seating capacity. We built a baptistery, a choir loft, and added a foyer with restrooms. We increased parking and added walkways.  We also added a ball field and a new AWANA building. In 2001 we purchased adjoining land and a house for the youth group. We continue to grow and reach out to the community.
